Why:
We do this ’cause of Maxx’s Produce and Sue’s Produce! In the summer of 2006 Karen and I lived just west of Rittenhouse Square and in these two tiny local produce shops we found the best orange juice and hummous respectively. We were secretive and psyched at first, but then we had to tell everybody to go to Maxx’s and Sue’s. Then I thought it might be a good idea to share with the rest of the world and invite contributors.
This site is all about discovering cool stuff in Philly. Usually it will be things not covered in the Best of Philly awards or in the weekly papers but sometimes we may overlap. A hole-in-the-wall falafel place, a newstand that is Philly’s secret third comic book store, a favorite mural artist or the place that makes the best Manhattan (all upcoming posts btw). Some things will be new to readers and i’m sure some will be old. We intend to make every post informative though. To that end we’re gonna post pictures and recipes and links and locations for every find so you can check them out for yourself. Enjoy.
How:
Pics are with a Canon SD600 (Karen’s) and an A80 (Matt’s). We use iPhoto to get them from the cameras to the Flickrs. We then add the photos from Flickr to Wordpress.
